Our Addiction Treatment Approach
Group Therapy
All of our programs at Emory Recovery offer group therapy. Groups are facilitated by our clinical staff and always entail evidence-based practices in mental health and substance abuse treatment. Group counseling is a proven and effective tool in alcohol and addiction treatment.
Included at every level of careIndividual Counseling
In addition to group therapy, all levels of care at Emory Recovery Center include individual counseling. Patients will have an assigned primary therapist for one-on-one therapy. This gives our patients more time to work through issues on a personal level with their clinician.
Assigned primary therapistOur Three Phase Approach
Day Treatment
Monday–Friday · 9am–3pmOur Day Treatment program is the first phase of the Emory Recovery Continuum. Patients attend group and individual therapy either from home or a structured sober living facility. This is a crucial phase of treatment where patients begin to lay the foundation for lasting recovery.
Intensive Outpatient
About 3 hours a day · day or eveningOur Intensive Outpatient program is the next phase after our day treatment program, and patients can attend during the day or switch to a nighttime schedule. During this phase, patients are integrating back into their home life and the community.
Outpatient Drug Rehab
A few hours each weekOutpatient treatment is the final phase of the Emory Recovery Continuum. Patients continue group and individual therapy on a flexible weekly schedule while living at home — maintaining accountability and relapse-prevention support as they return to work, school, and daily life.
Treatment Programs for Drug & Alcohol Addiction
Emory Recovery Center is a working treatment provider, not a directory. We offer a full continuum of structured outpatient care for Massachusetts residents and people across the North Shore, so you can start at the level that matches your needs and step down as you stabilize. For many people, that means beginning with day treatment (PHP) or an intensive outpatient program (IOP), then transitioning into standard outpatient care while continuing to live at home.
Every track combines individual counseling, group therapy, relapse-prevention planning, and support for co-occurring mental health conditions. Whether you are seeking help for alcohol addiction, opioids, stimulants, or prescription medications, our admissions team can help you understand which level of care may make sense near Massachusetts.
