Carrie Aniconi is passionate about supporting her clients on their
journey to recovery, helping them to increase their overall sense of
independence and well-being. With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology
from Plymouth State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic
Recreation from Aurora University, Carrie’s deep understanding of
human stories and the power of narrative has seamlessly translated
into her work in addiction recovery. She brings 10 years of experience in
various roles dedicated to supporting individuals in the human service
industry. Carrie has worked over the years in residential settings with
individuals with developmental disabilities, in both inpatient and
outpatient mental health centers, and with youth in education settings.
She has worked in the past as a case manager, vocational specialist,
after-school program coordinator, and a recreational therapist, with her
main passion being therapeutic recreation.
Carrie believes that recovery doesn’t have to be a solemn process. She
embraces a therapeutic approach that is both dynamic and interactive,
engaging both mind and body. Whether through expressive arts, music
therapy, physical activity, or interactive group teambuilding activities,
Carrie strives to make each session a lively, positive experience. Her
approach is rooted in empowerment, focusing on helping clients
rediscover their strengths and build resilience. Carrie is committed to
walking alongside her clients as they navigate their unique recovery
journeys, fostering a sense of confidence and optimism and striving to
meet each individual where they’re at in their recovery journey. Carrie
uses her own experience playing sports and being physically active to
empower her clients to reach their goals and she encompasses the
same sense of teamwork and camaraderie she has experienced in her
personal life to help empower her clients.
